Few events can overshadow a total eclipse of the sun, but a Fort Worth family found a way when their baby was born a week early — and they named her accordingly.

Sol (Spanish for sun) Celeste Alvarez was born during the eclipse at 1:04 p.m. Monday at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, weighing 6 pounds and 7 ounces.

Her mother, Alicia, was due next week, but it was clear as day her baby wasn't waiting.

The family ran into some pre-eclipse traffic on their way to the hospital, and baby Sol was born just in time for her parents, Carlos and Alicia Alvarez, and the rest of Dallas-Fort Worth to witness her namesake completely eclipsed by the moon.

Just don't expect Sol Celeste to give up the spotlight to her 4-year-old sister anytime soon. Her big sister's name? Luna!
