On Nov. 28, Don Miller, former Executive Pastor at First Baptist Church of Mansfield for 40 years, was commissioned into the Burleson chapter of the Civil Air Patrol as a chaplain.
This chapter is comprised of 25 teenage cadets and 15 adult mentors. The cadets learn aerospace engineering; emergency reconnaissance of small aircraft and individuals; character development; and first aid. All adults are volunteers. Obtaining a private pilot’s license can be achieved. Some students go on to receive an appointment to a service academy.
More adults and students are welcome. Contact Captain Miller at don7149@att.net.
