Due to current weather forecasts and to protect the safety and well-being of the students, staff and the community, Mansfield ISD has added additional safety precautions for home football games scheduled Aug. 23-25.

In response to this week's anticipated excessive heat, the following mitigating strategies have been implemented:

All varsity games will be adjusted to a 7:30 p.m. kickoff time.

Fans will be added to the sidelines at all varsity games.

All sub-varsity game times will be adjusted to a 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.  kickoff time.

Sub-varsity quarters will be reduced from 10 minutes to 8 minutes as an additional mitigating measure and to accommodate for water breaks and later kick off times.

A three-minute water break will occur during the first dead ball of the midpoint of each quarter of ALL games.

Athletic trainers will be onsite to provide support. Students, staff and community members in attendance are encouraged to hydrate before, during and after games this week.
