Mansfield ISD pair earn first place at national conference

Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) student members Jazmin Ruiz and Rory Sugito earned first-place medals at the Educators Rising National Conference held in Orlando, Florida.  

Jazmin Rory, a Frontier STEM Academy junior, earned first place in the Educators Rising Moment competition, where she spoke on why she aims to pursue a career in education.

Rory Sugito, a Lake Ridge High School junior, earned first place in the Exploring Support Services competition, where he gave a presentation of his experience shadowing someone in educational support services.  

In total, eight future educators from Mansfield ISD advanced to a national contest after taking top honors at the state competition in March.

TAFE is one of the nine Career and Technical Student Organizations recognized by the Texas Education Agency. Through Mansfield ISD's chapter, students have the opportunity to compete in events that build teaching skills, earn scholarships, network, and become college and career ready.
