The Mansfield Public Library has received the Achievement of Library Excellence award for the seventh consecutive year.
The Texas Municipal Library Directors Association’s top award recognizes the local library’s quality services, collaboration with community, outreach to underserved communities and more.
Mansfield is one of 84 public libraries, out of 545 in Texas, to receive the recognition putting it in the top 15 percent.
“The Mansfield Public Library stands as a bastion of education in our community,” Mayor Michael Evans said. “This honor is a testament to our commitment to make sure everyone in Mansfield has the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe space.”
The award is judged on a library’s impact in the community and ability to provide evolving services that fit today’s needs such as digital inclusion, community participation and leadership, literacy support, workforce development, innovative marketing and more.
Receiving this award continues a tradition for the Mansfield Public Library, which has been recognized more than 14 times.
“This honor goes to the librarians and staff that make sure the Mansfield Public Library feels like it belongs to everyone,” said Yolanda Botello, Library and Historical Services Director. “It also goes to all our patrons and volunteers who actively make the library a lively and inviting space
for all.”
