In the past month, the Mansfield Police Department has made multiple arrests for online solicitation of a juvenile.
Due to the seriousness of the arrests and ongoing investigation, the police department issued this statement:
“The Mansfield Police Department participated in a multi-agency operation related to the protection of children. Specifically, this operation looked for adult suspects who were attempting to solicit minor children to engage in sexual relations. As part of this investigation, undercover detectives were communicating online with individuals who believed that the officers were underage children. Once the suspects agreed to meet to engage in sexual conduct, criminal cases were pursued. We had a total of eight arrests.”
