Methodist Mansfield Medical Center Women Services nurses Lesley Pierce, Alicia O'Mealia and Wendy Ramirez celebrate collecting the sixth largest amount of breast milk in the DFW area, ranking ninth in the entire state of Texas and being the leading contributor within the Methodist Health System.
Thanks to the support of numerous mothers in Mansfield, the hospital’s Milk Depot Site was able to collect nearly 12,000 ounces of donor breast milk. That equates to roughly 35,000 feedings for NICU infants. Breast milk is a precious elixir for babies and can be lifesaving for preterm infants. Its antibodies act as superheroes, shielding infants from illness and offering ideal nutrition and immunological properties.
