Fred Wright passed away last month at his home in Alvarado after suffering a heart attack, and after many years of debilitating multiple sclerosis. Benjamin Fred Wright Jr. was born Jan. 28, 1946, in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas, to Benjamin Fred Wright and Billie Mae Buster Wright.
Fred graduated from Abilene High School in 1965, and later attended Texas Tech before moving to Albuquerque. For more than a decade he excelled making documentaries, political and commercial television ads. He was also an accomplished photographer, and later channeled his skills into information reproduction and storage via microfilm.
He returned to Abilene, where he met Kyleen Peloquen. They were married in 1983 in Breckenridge, Texas. Soon thereafter the couple relocated to Arlington, where they had four sons.
Fred is survived by his sons, Joshua and his wife, Kelsey, Zachary, Matthew and Jesse Wright, and two granddaughters, Eleanor and Penelope. The family is especially thankful to his caretakers, friends and neighbors who lovingly attended to him in his final years. Special thanks also to his beloved classmates from AHS.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield, with interment following.
