One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Newt Patterson Road early Saturday morning.
Mansfield police responded to the 2300 block of Newt Patterson Road at approximately 3:51 a.m. Saturday and found a gray Chevrolet Trax engulfed in flames. After Rendon and Mansfield fire departments extinquished the flames, police discovered the driver deceased inside. No other occupants were inside the vehicle, police said.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office will release the name of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. DFW Scanner reports that family members identified the deceased as a 27-year-old man.
Mansfield police are investigating the accident. The vehicle landed off the roadway, where it collided with a drainage pipe, police said.
