A chunk of South Main Street will get some improvements, leading to the closure of a section of the road for a weekend.
A quarter mile section of South Main Street, from Heritage Parkway to Sentry Drive, will be closed from the morning of Oct. 8 through the evening of Oct. 10. The intersection of South Main Street and Heritage Parkway will remain open throughout the weekend.
The city will be installing a drainage culvert under South Main Street, said Bart VanAmburgh, Mansfield’s director of public works. Mansfield ISD students will not have school Oct. 10 due to a teacher in-service day, VanAmburgh said, so the disruption of school traffic should be lessened.
