A Halloween shooting at a Mansfield restaurant sent one person to the hospital and then to jail.
Scott McPherson, 32, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries to his hand after allegedly being shot by JoQuetta Jones, 32, according to Mansfield police. Detectives determined that McPherson assaulted Jones and attempted to run over her with his vehicle in a restaurant parking lot in the 1700 block of U.S. 287 Frontage Road, according to the police report. Jones then allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot McPherson, the report stated.
Mansfield police responded to the domestic disturbance at 7:40 p.m. Oct. 31, where witnesses reported the shooting and that McPherson and Jones had left together in a black four-door vehicle to go to Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
McPherson was treated and released from the hospital Nov. 2, when he was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the report states.
Mansfield police report that Jones was located in the parking lot across the street from the hospital, but has not been charged.
