Guy Stewart and Flossie Stewart are shown in the photo of from 1930 of Stewart's Gin. Guy M. Stewart purchased the gin from Q.K. Wheeler in 1928 and operated it continuously until 1952. The photo shows a wagon pulled up under the entry where a large suction pipe was used to pull the cotton up from the wagon into the ginning cycle. One wagon load produced one finished bale, averaging 500 pounds. In peak season, the men would work day and night to turn out 30 to 40 bales a day. The gin was at the interesection of Dallas Street and Pond Street.
