An incident at Timberview High School on Thursday led to two injured students, an arrest and increased security.
An altercation between two students led to both having minor cuts that were treated by the school nurse on Thursday, said a Mansfield ISD official. One student managed to get a pocket knife onto campus, despite the Evolv security scanner alerting school officers. A physical search did not turn up the knife, the official said.
One student was arrested for the altercation Thursday, according to a Mansfield ISD statement sent to parents.
The sensitivity level of the Evolv system was increased Friday, the official said, leading to alerts about three-ring binders, eyeglass cases and more, causing backups for students trying to enter the school on Friday.
