Craig Tipping won the Place 3 seat on the Mansfield ISD school board in the runoff election June 18.
Results are unofficial until canvassed June 28.
Tipping, a physical therapist, collected 52 percent of the votes to defeat Benita C. Reed, an educator, with 48 percent. Tipping and Reed wound up in a runoff after failing to win 50 percent of the vote in the May 7 general election. In that election, Tipping earned 49 percent, Reed took 43 percent and Shawn Thompson had 8 percent.
The Place 3 seat was up for grabs due to the retirement of Randall Canedy.
