Mansfield police have arrested a suspect in Thursday's fatal shooting of a teen.
Elijah Hatton, 21, has been charged with murder in the death of a 17-year-old male in the 800 block of Cutting Horse Drive at approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Mansfield detectives worked through the night pursuing leads, identifying the suspect's vehicle and locating it at an apartment complex in East Dallas. The suspect was taken into custody by Mansfield SWAT officers without incident.
Mansfield police responded to a welfare check on Thursday afternoon, where they found citizens performing CPR on the unresponsive victim. Mansfield Fire Department Medics arrived and continued life-saving measures. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died.
