Police make second arrest in fatal teen shooting

Mansfield police have arrested a second suspect in the shooting death of a local teen.

Mansfield police detectives and the U.S. Marshal’s Office Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael Adrean Spencer, 19, on Wednesday without incident, in relation to the murder of Julious Rogers, 17, on Sept. 19.

Spencer has been charged with murder, along with Elijah Hatton, 21, who was arrested Sept. 20.

Mansfield police responded to a welfare check at approximately 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 800 block of Cutting Horse Drive and found citizens performing CPR on Rogers, who was unresponsive. Mansfield Fire Department medics arrived and continued life-saving measures. Rogers was transported to Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, where he died.
