Mansfield ISD to induct athletes into Hall of Honor

A new class will soon take their places on the walls atVernon Newsom Stadium as part of the 2024 inductees of the Mansfield ISD Hallof Honor.

“The Mansfield ISD Athletic Hall of Honor isone Mansfield ISD’s greatest traditions,” said Jerod Womack, executive directorof athletics for the Mansfield ISD. “The Hall of Honor recognizes formercoaches, volunteers, teams and student athletes who have had a lasting impacton the MISD Athletic department and beyond.  I am very proud of this 2024class and look forward to a great event on November 2nd.”

Thisyear’s honorees include former Timberview High girls basketball coach CandiHarvey, Summit High volleyball and track star Camille Cherry Smith, MansfieldHigh basketball and volleyball standout Kyla Hill Taggert, Legacy High trackand field star Kayla Taylor and Mansfield High’s 2011 boys state champion golfteam, which includes Andy Ariens, Kolton Crawford, Hayden Frederick, Andy Garcia and LukeNeeley.

 

This year’s class will be inducted at 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at theDr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane. Ticketsare $20 for the reception. Tickets and sponsorships are available here.

After the reception, the inductees’ photos and a plaqueabout their accomplishments will be placed in the community room at VernonNewsom Stadium. Mansfield ISD’s Hall of Honor began in 2013.
