Mansfield honors veterans with weekend activities

Mansfield will honor its veterans Nov. 8-10 with a parade, concert and the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall.

The wall, a 6-foot-tall and 300-foot-long scale model of theWashington D.C. monument, will open at 9 a.m. Nov. 8 at the Shops at Broad,1574 E. Broad St. Like the Vietnam Wall, the traveling wall honors  U.S. military personnel who died in theVietnam War.

The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall will be on display atthe Shops at Broad through Nov. 10. Admission is free.

On Nov. 9, the city will salute the city’s veterans with aparade on East Broad Street, ending at City Hall, 1200 E. Broad St. The paradekicks off at 10 a.m. and concludes with a patriotic salute at City Hall.

On Nov. 11, Mansfield ISD middle and high school choir studentswill perform a patriotic concert, starting at 7 p.m. at the Dr. Jim VaszauskasCenter for Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane. Admission is free.
