The Veteran’s Day Breakfast, hosted by Lake Ridge High School’s administration, Key Club and JROTC, was held at 7:45 a.m. Nov. 11. It included a speech given by members of the JROTC and Jaiyla Smith, a member of LRHS’ Key Club. The JROTC raised the American flag, marched and called their cadences. Afterward, a part of the LRHS choir sang a rendition of The Star Spangled, followed by the Key Club handing out coffee, donuts and kolachis. Veterans were also given handmade cards from the Key Club thanking them for their time in the military. In total 60-plus veterans were served during the event and the rest of the food went to faculty members.
