Historical: Juanita and James Gray, ca. 1930s

Juanita Lindsey Gray and James Weaver Gray were circus and rodeo performers in the 1930s. During the Depression, the Weavers gave a show on Smith Street, with merchants donating food or money to pay them. They became famous with their horses, doing trick roping and riding, and dog tricks. The Weavers traveled the country performing for 43 years before retiring to Mansfield in 1966.
