Attendees gamble for raffle tickets at the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation gala on Friday night.

The Mansfield ISD Education Foundation held a gala Friday night at The Grand View to raise funds for special teacher projects.

The non-profit foundation gives grants to teachers in the district for innovative programs beyond what taxes provide.

More than 230 people attended the "Vegas Nights: All in for Education Gala," which featured a prime rib and shrimp dinner, along with gambling for tickets for raffle prizes.

Jennifer Kurecka, director of the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation, hopes the gala will become an annual event.

"This is my hope, that the community will help keep it rolling with us for education," she said.

The Education Foundation is planning a golf tournament in June and a pickleball tournament in October. For more information, go to mansfieldisdfoundation.org.
