The Mansfield Historical Society will have a general meeting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Man House Museum, 604 W. Broad St. The meeting will focus on the introduction of the Mansfield Desegregation Landmark to be located at Geyer Commons. The landmark will reflect on the first attempt to desegregate schools in Mansfield and how far we’ve come in the past 70 years. Mansfield had a major role in the U.S. Civil Rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s.  The landmark will be sponsored by the Mansfield Historical Society, Bethlehem Baptist Church and various community organizations and businesses. The meeting is open to all residents interested in learning about Mansfield Civil Rights history.
