The owner of a security company hired to help guard some Northwest ISD schools was recently arrested on complaints of sexual assault of a child and prohibited sexual conduct, jail records show.
Kirk Grabel, 54, the owner of Lone Star Protection and Security, was arrested July 16 and booked into the Parker County Jail on the sexual assault of a child and prohibited sexual conduct charges, which stemmed from 2021 and 2022, respectively, jail records show. Grabel posted bond and was released from jail July 17, according to jail records.
Grabel previously worked for the Mansfield Police Department.
Northwest ISD confirmed they were aware of Grable’s arrest and were investigating the district’s contract with Lone Star Protection and Security.
“Northwest ISD is aware of the arrest of Kirk Stanley Grabel, owner of Lone Star Protection & Security, for sexual assault of a child and has begun an immediate investigation of its contract with his company,” the district said in a statement to WFAA. “Kirk Grabel has never worked at any district school, and we have no records that he has ever visited a district school or interacted with a Northwest ISD student. The protection of our students is our top priority, and we take any allegations of danger to children seriously.”
Before starting Lone Star Protection and Security, Grabel had worked in public safety for more than 30 years, including as a rescue specialist with Texas Task Force One, according to the company’s website.
