Timberview, Summit athletes star at state track & field meet

The Timberview track and field team brought home medals, and a first-place team trophy,  from the UIL Class 5A Track & Field State Championships in Austin over the weekend.

The Wolves got first-place performances from the boys squad to capture the team title during the annual event at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas.

Timberview also got winning individual performances. Its vaunted boys 4x100 relay team finished first in 40.22 seconds. That team includes Trysten Shaw, Kobe Smith, Cliff Nguyen and Brandon Gilmore.

Shaw also claimed the championship in the boys 300-meter hurdles finishing in 36.29.

Summit got a gold medal from Domonique Young, who placed first in the boys long jump, recording a jump of 24-00.25.
