Mansfield Record
If it seems like we got a lot of rain in May, it’s because we did.
The Arlington Municipal Airport recorded 5.54 inches last month, more than an inch above normal rainfall, which is 4.33 inches, said Jennifer Dunn, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
“May is one of our highest precipitation months,” she said. “It’s not unusual.”
And June could be damp, too, Dunn said.
“For June, we don’t see a strong signal either way for strong precipitation,” she said. “That probably means that we are still going to get some precipitation. That’s good news. It will keep the temperatures moderated and can help mitigate the threat for wildfires across the state.”
The wet stuff is just going to keep coming, Dunn predicts.
“In late June, the forecast is favoring above normal precipitation, so hopefully it won’t be quite as hot, but definitely humid and sticky.”
