Methodist Mansfield Medical Center joined millions worldwide in observing Global Handwashing Day, highlighting the crucial role of hand hygiene in protecting health. Celebrated annually on Oct. 15, this initiative serves as a reminder that regular handwashing can significantly reduce the spread of infections and diseases, benefiting individuals, families and communities alike.
The medical center is excited to partner with Buff City Soap, which provided the soap and whose dedication to high-quality, plant-based soap products aligns with the hospital's mission of promoting health and hygiene.
In conjunction with this observance, Methodist Mansfield conducted a handwashing poster contest for elementary art students. Fourth-grader Charlotte Adolph from Brenda Norwood Elementary School took first place with her creative drawing. Leila Amaya and Sonni Carl, also fourth-graders from the same school, earned second and third places, respectively. Additionally, Joaquin Soto, an art teacher at Lake Ridge High School, showcased his talent with a striking soap sculpture featuring hands under a faucet holding a bar of soap.
