Historical: John N. Thomas

First Lt. John N. Thomas was a bombardier on a B-29 in the U.S. Army during World War II. He flew 24 missions over Japan. He was at Tinian Island when the atomic bomb was dropped in Japan. He participated in offensives in the Western Pacific and Eastern Mandates. Thomas received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbons, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three clusters and three Bronze Stars.
